Get involved — safely
Updated 2026-02-18
Curiosity about Web3 is healthy. Rushing in is not. The safest way to get involved is to learn the mechanics first and treat every new platform with caution.
1. Learn before you touch money
Understand what a wallet is, what a private key is and why a transaction cannot be reversed. Testnets let you try sending tokens without real value at stake.
2. Choose regulated services
If you decide to use a trading service, choose one that is licensed in your jurisdiction and applies identity checks (KYC). Anonymous platforms with high promised yields are where most beginners lose funds.
3. Secure your access
- write the seed phrase on paper and keep it offline;
- enable two-factor authentication everywhere;
- never share your screen while a wallet is open.
4. Contribute without investing
You can get involved by writing documentation, testing open-source software or joining community discussions. Many people in the industry started this way.
